How can I find out if a person is at your facility?

 

This information can be obtained only if you are a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian. Any other inquiries must be made to the Office of Juvenile Probation & Parole at (717)299-8161, or the Children & Youth Agency at (717)299-7925.

 


 

How do I know when a resident has visitation?

 

Program/housing location determine a resident's visitation schedule.

How do I contact a resident in the event of a

family medical emergency?

 

In the event of a family medical emergency, family members should contact a facility supervisor at (717)299-7821 with the following information:

  • Name of resident

  • Name and contact number of the person providing the information

  • Name of the person hospitalized and their relation to the resident

  • Name and telephone number of the hospital


 

Does a resident need money while being held at the facility?

 

No. Everything is provided for our residents.

 


 

Where are my child's court hearings held?

 

Detention and Shelter Hearings are held at the Youth Intervention Center. For the exact date and time, contact our facility.

 

 

Adjudication and Disposition Hearings are held at the Lancaster County Courthouse. Contact the Office of Juvenile Probation & Parole for date, time, and courtroom location.

 

 


 

Can a resident's personal medications be brought in to be used

while they are at your facility? 

 

Yes. You may bring your child's medication to our facility in its originally prescribed container or packaging. Once the medication had been examined by our facility nurses, and approved by our facility's physician, your child will be administered their prescribed medication.

 


 

What if my child becomes sick or injured while at your facility?

 

Your child will receive immediate medical attention by our facility nurses and physician, and will be transported to a local hospital emergency room if necessary. The facility will contact you if this situation were to occur.

 


 

What if my child has a pre-arranged medical/dental appointment prior to entering your facility?

Will he/she be able to go?

 

You will need to provide that information to the child's probation officer/case worker and the Youth Intervention Center in advance. The Office of Juvenile Probation & Parole or the Children & Youth Agency and our facility will determine whether or not this appointment can occur. You will be made aware of the outcome of such a decision.
